| Susanne
Ringell (b. 1955) is a Finland-Swedish writer who has made
a particular impact with her mildly absurd short stories.
Her most recent collection, a series of thumbnail portraits
of human foibles, was reviewed in SBR 2001:1. She has worked
in the theatre and written plays and radio drama as well
as books.
“
No one in a long time has been as serious and exhilarating
as Susanne Ringell when she blends linguistic analysis with
psychology and absurdism. Female absurdism is something of
which we cannot have too much.” (Maria Antas, Books
from Finland, 2001/1)
